Executive Board

The current Executive Board (effective April 1, 2007 - March 31, 2008) consists of the following members:

President

Byron has been Swing dancing since the summer of 1998. He started with a six count Swing class, but quickly moved to Lindy Hop and simultaneously enrolled in all four Lindy Hop fundamentals classes that Savoy Swing Club offered at the time.

He continued taking a ridiculous amount of classes and social dancing almost every day for over a year before slowing down and taking only one or two classes per session and social dancing only three or four nights each week. After dancing for about a year, Byron began attending camps and workshops all over the country and now travels around the world for dance events and continues to dance socially around three nights per week.

He was a member of the Rain City Rugcutters and competed and performed for about three years. During this time, he periodically taught Lindy Hop and Balboa classes and became involved with the Seattle Lindy Exchange. He created a registration system and has provided website hosting and database support for the SLE since 2000. He is passionate about Balboa, Blues and Lindy Hop and loves to compete in Jack and Jill contests, even though he never makes the finals. Outside of dancing (yes, he does have to earn a living), Byron is a partner in a software company and a restaurant and is a freelance software consultant, specializing in web applications.

Vice President

Involved with the Seattle Exchange and Rhythm Revue, Freddie is actively involved in the Seattle dance community. He is also a regular DJ at various venues. Originally from Houston, Freddie has found Seattle a great place to call home.

Secretary

Gina has been dancing since 2002 and active in the Seattle swing scene since moving here in 2004 to attend graduate school. She was introduced to lindy hop after 1 month of East Coast Swing and has never looked back.

In addition to lindy hop, Gina also loves balboa/bal-swing and blues, and regularly attends workshops and exchanges locally and around the country for all of these dances. In the past year she has traveled to Portland, San Diego, Herrang, San Francisco, St. Louis, and New Orleans for dance events.

Gina works at the University of Washington in public health research and maintains a balanced personal life while continuing to dance in Seattle at least 3 nights a week. She is looking forward to this opportunity to contribute more to the local swing community.
